ON SET FIRE MARSHALS & Officers

FIRE MARSHALS

ON SET FIRE OFFICERS

ON SET FIRE OFFICERS

The role of the fire marshal is to make sure that all fire safety equipment on set is in working order and that there is a clear plan  set out of what to do in the event of a fire.

Other roles of a fire marshal include:

  • Regular testing of fire exits, alarms, fire doors, emergency exits and other equipment that may be used in the event of a fire
  • Ensuring that there is nothing within the studio or location positioned where it  shouldn’t, which could cause a fire.
  • Making sure new crew members as well as existing cast & crew are familiar with the fire safety procedures and are aware of their nearest fire exits.
  • Conducting a full fire risk assessment of the location and ensuring current safety protocols are followed.

Fire Extinghisers on Set should be be in working order and correct for type of risk

The use of fire that is any open flame constitutes a particularly  hazardous situation on any film set.

We can provide current on set fire Officers:

  • They will not only assume the roll of the Fire Marshal during shooting but pre-shoot they will undertake the risk assesment and ensure correct placements of fire fightinh media, signs and alarms.
  • Extreme care must be taken to avoid  endangering yourself and/or your cast and crew when candles,  fireplaces, campfires, cigarette lighters and the like are used.
  • Our Fire Officers are all trained fire fighters and have a huge amount of on set experience.
  • Our Fire Officers are all also current Casualty Care trained as EMTs so can also help to back up the Set Medic should it be needed, if there is a serious accident on set, requiring more hands.
